Death Angel: a thrashumentary (2015) – An interview with Mark Osegueda

People of good taste in thrash metal, please give me 15 minutes of your time to present to you one of the most important thrash metal releases of 2015, Death Angel: a thrashumentary. It was released on 17 July 2015 in Europe and will hit the shelves in the US on 24 July 2015.

The 159-minute DVD recounts the story of Bay Area’s Death Angel, one of the most influential metal bands of the 1980s. If that wasn’t enough, the band added the live CD The Bay Calls For Blood, which in my humble opinion is one of the greatest live albums I have heard in a very long time. It captures the live atmosphere perfectly and the live mix is phenomenal. Furthermore, the songs chosen for the setlist create an excellent dynamic flow. Of course, a few classic songs seem to be missing. But hey, that is a subjective opinion and doesn’t belittle the fact that the chosen 10 tracks offer a fantastic listening experience.

But let me stop right here. Mark Osegueda, frontman of Death Angel, told me everything one needs to know to get into the Death Angel spirit and go buy this excellent release. Actually, the only thing you need to know is that a thrashumentary, incl. The Bay Calls For Blood, is a must have for any thrash metal fan.
