Queensrÿche released their Mindcrime at the Moore live album on July 3, 2007, through Rhino Entertainment. The show was recorded live at the Moore Theatre in Seattle, Washington, USA, on October 13, 14, & 15, 2006. The album includes all songs of Operation: Mindcrime I and II and the songs are played in the same order as on their respective original album releases.
As an admirer of Queensrÿche, who has never been able to see the band live, their live albums have always been a great treat. Even though, I find the mix of this live album not as good as the mix of Queensrÿche’s other live albums, such as Operation: Livecrime and Live Evolution (also recorded at the Moore Theater), I like the feel and atmosphere the band is able to create through the show.
Also, we need to mention that the Moore Theater has seen a good amount of rock acts recording live shows on its stage. From The Who’s rock opera Tommy, to Soundgarden’s Fopp EP, and Pearl Jam’s Even Flow music video, just to name a few.
The crucial point for me though is that there is a live-recording of Operation: Mindcrime II in its entirety. And since former singer Geoff Tate and his old bandmates don’t seem to have buried their hatchets and reunite anytime soon, this recording might well be the only live recording of the album for a long time. Enjoy it!
